THE STORY BEHIND THE CHI-RHO SYMBOL

At the heart of Redeemer Church’s logo is the ancient Christian symbol known as the Chi-Rho. This symbol is formed by the Greek letters Chi (Χ) and Rho (Ρ)—the first two letters of the Greek word Χριστός (Christos), meaning “Christ.”

From the earliest centuries of the Church, believers have used the Chi-Rho as a visual confession of faith in Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Lord.

By incorporating the Chi-Rho into our church’s logo, we are affirming our identity as a people rooted in the historic Christian faith. It is a visual expression of our union with Christ and with the communion of saints—those faithful believers throughout the centuries who have held fast to the gospel.
